FAQs
What is Cabaret?
A cabaret show is a live performance that blends music, dance, comedy, and theater. These shows often take place in intimate venues like nightclubs, where performers engage closely with the audience. From glamorous and sophisticated to risqué and playful, cabaret focuses on the visual, emotional, and dramatic aspects of the performance. You may see burlesque, singers, comedians, acrobats, and other entertainers, often in an interactive and engaging atmosphere.
When and Where are Performances?
Shinjuku Strays Cabaret produces quarterly shows, rotating casts based on specific show applications and internal member casting. We perform exclusively in the Omaha-Metro area, with past performances at venues like The Jewell, The Waiting Room, Maloney’s Live in Council Bluffs, Benson Theatre, CHI Health Center, The Admiral, and The Mid America Center.
How Do I Get Involved?
We welcome all performing artists—regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or color—to apply for both performing and stage assisting opportunities. Keep an eye on our social media for open applications, and submit yours if you think you’d be a good fit!
